Our community engagement centers around three priority areas: education, health and culture. We aim to harness the human potential of the people living around the project area to improve their living standards.
Larry Kramer Scholarship
The Larry Kramer Scholarship Scheme which was launched in the year 2000 by the first General Manager of CMS in Michigan has been a major CSR headline in TAQA Ghana to contribute to the education of the people of Aboadze and the surrounding communities. In 2019, 200 students benefited from the scheme and the total expenditure for the 2019 Kramar Scholarship scheme including media coverage was GHS 116,712.
Kundum Festival support
TAQA Ghana has also contributed sizeable funds towards the renovation process during the 2019 Kundum Festival where the General Manager, Mr. Ernest Osafo graced the occasion as the special guest of honour. Financial support went towards the refurbishment of the building and purchase of some beds and equipment.
Building HIV/AIDS awareness
The 2019 CSR highlight year also saw TAQA Ghana support Radio Shama with a health walk and its bid to raise HIV/AIDS awareness in the Community. There was a health walk which was followed by health Screening and talks on HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention.
Breast cancer awareness
As October marks the Breast Cancer Awareness Month Worldwide, TAQA Ghana set a day aside to mark this by inviting a Team of Medical Doctors from the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital to give a health talk and Breast Cancer Screening to Staff and wives of the male employees.
It was a day filled with learning and gave the opportunity to all participants to answer pressing questions surrounding this deadly disease.
